The Project Brief

Following the removal of the existing suspend ceiling GE Building Services removed all of the existing redundant kitchen ventilation.

The large flat roof was replaced with a modern and insulated Bauder roof all new ventilation plant was fitted including a gas heater battery to provide tempered  air into the kitchen to work along side the extract system which was also linked into the fire alarm and roller shutter on the servery counter.

The existing 3 phase distribution boards were replaced and upgraded to current standards to allow for more capacity within the kitchen area.

Fire rated doors where fitted to the kitchen area along with new drainage to the new central cooking area, additional electric convector heaters where added to the central heating system within the kitchen.

A new suspended ceiling fitted with plastic faced ceiling tiles and modern LED panel lighting really brought the kitchen up to date.

Our Approach

A programme of works was put together in consultation with the school to enable refurbishment of the kitchen ventilation plant to bring the kitchen upto all current standards.

The first aspect of this project was to replace the roof above the kitchen area and to enable up-stands to be built to accommodate the new supply and extract ductwork.

The ventilation system was installed within the kitchen area whilst the roofing works were underway, the ventilation system was designed and future proofed for any gas appliances that may be added to the kitchen at a later date.

All new distribution boards were installed to allow greater capacity and new circuits into the kitchen.
